BellHawk DEX Box Automated Data Exchange

Automated Data Exchange Flow

Within the DEXBox there is a DEX database with a set of tables that can be written and read by client systems running on the same local area network as the DEXbox.

Once data is written into the tables in the DEX database, this data will be automatically transferred to BellHawk Online via its BellHawk's web-services interface.

Tables that can be written into, include:

  1. Customers
  2. Customer Addresses
  3. Suppliers
  4. Supplier Addresses
  5. Item Categories and Material Types
  6. Item Master Records
  7. Purchase Orders (header and detail tables)
  8. Ship Orders (header and detail tables)
  9. Work Orders (header, route, part-in and part-out tables)

Once data is written into the tables in the DEX database, this data will be automatically transferred to BellHawk Online via its BellHawk's web-services interface.

The DEX Data Exchange process also remotely monitors tables in the BellHawk database, looking for new entries. It then writes the following into tables in the DEX database, as events occur in the BellHawk database:

  1. Received materials/containers
  2. Shipped materials/containers
  3. Materials withdrawn from inventory
  4. Materials entered into inventory
  5. Nightly snapshot of inventory (adding up quantities by ERP location in containers)
  6. Nightly snapshot of all containers (in containers table)

These entries can then be picked up and transferred to other systems, as needed.

The DEXBox runs a specialized version of the MilramX software, which manages the transfers between the DEXBox database and BellHawk Online. This software makes sure that only good data gets transferred to BellHawk and any bad data is not transferred. Such failures can be viewed through the Windows control program running on the DEXBox.

This MilramX software can be configured to read directly from ERP, accounting or other systems tables using ODBC rather than first copying data into the import tables in the DEXBox database.DEXBox.php
